What does the National Flag, Emblems and Names (Amendment) Bill, 2017 propose?

The Bill proposes that that any person may fly or display the National Flag at any private residence, place of work or business as long as it does not undermine the authority or reputation of the State.

The Cabinet Secretary has been given the mandate to make rules/guidelines pertaining to the display of the flag in the place of work and private residences.

The Bill seeks to promote patriotism by allowing members of the public to express it via flying the National Flag anywhere.
